Money Transfer India - Opening NRI account with banks

Citibank offers money transfer services by opening a rupee checking account with them.  This has other facilities such as cheque books to family members as well as ATM cards.

There are a number of Indian banks such as SBI offer NRI account.  SBI offer DD in Indian rupee to those has account in SBI.

There are other NRI account such as meNRI, NRI-Direct offered by ICICI Bank in association with ME-Bank UAE and Commercial Bank Qatar respectively.  Those who have MeNRI account or NRI-Direct can send money to ICICI Bank easily to any account in India.
